Vocal workshops

On request I organise a vocal workshop. With a maximum of 5 participants, I work with the voice on one fixed evening a week for 5 consecutive weeks (or on dates to be agreed). Together with me, the group chooses two pieces of music in which to put what they learn into practice, and while working on the voice and the repertoire we cover everything:

• breathing
• how does the voice work?
• what is singing?
• what is pitch – how do you sing a higher or a lower note?
• the soundbox of our instrument
• projection of the voice
• diction
• interpretation
• and so on.

I often work with rounds, so that the group can sing something beautiful in several parts in no time.

Costs: € 100 p.p. for a group of 5 people, € 125 p.p. for a group of 4 people.

Interested? Sign up with your group via the contact form or by email, and let me know which evenings of the week suit you (e.g. ‘Wednesdays and Thursdays’ or ‘not on Mondays’). As an individual participant you are also welcome to register your interest; as soon as there are 5 participants, the dates will be planned and you will receive an email invitation.

One-off workshops

On request I can also organise one-off or shorter workshops, for example to celebrate a birthday (whether young or old!), during a company outing or at a choir weekend. Such a workshop can last from an hour to a whole day. I have given workshops for an 80th, a 16th and a 40th birthday, and at choir weekends. The price is by arrangement and depends on the number of participants, the length of the workshop and the location.

IPA workshops

Wanda gives workshops in which you learn to use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), to transcribe the texts of songs and arias in German, English, French, Italian or Dutch into IPA, and to sing them in the workshop to check that you are giving the IPA symbols the right sound. This way you can later apply the IPA when singing in other languages too. These workshops can take, for example, 5 evenings or a whole weekend.
