On 15 December 2017, Wanda Peters and pianist Dominika Glapiak gave the first half of the benefit concert organised by Soroptimist International Gdańsk in the beautiful Old Town Hall (Ratusz Staromiejski) of Gdańsk. The programme consisted of Polish songs by Chopin and Poulenc and a Polish Christmas carol, all in Polish. The more than 200 guests listened breathlessly and were amazed that they could understand the Dutch soprano word for word.
The proceeds of more than €3,000 went to the fund the club has run for years for talented women artists. Dominika Glapiak had herself benefited from this fund a few years earlier, when it helped her record her first CD. The collaboration began when the Gdańsk Soroptimists and Wanda met in July 2017 at the congress of Soroptimist International of Europe in Florence.
