kwARTet consisted of four Soroptimists, all professional musicians: soprano Wanda Peters (club De Bilt-Bilthoven), soprano Irene Maessen (club Bommelerwaard), pianist Yvonne Hoekstra (club Utrecht) and presenter Beatrice Dees (club Utrechtse Heuvelrug). The programme VROUWEN (WOMEN) brought songs, duets and texts about women in different stages of life and situations in various countries: about love, motherhood, joy and sorrow. In Den Dolder they performed songs in ten languages by 26 composers, thirteen of them women; Beatrice Dees from Driebergen introduced the songs with humour and also explained, among other things, dissonant sounds. Each soprano sang several solo songs, and together they sang a number of duets.

The premiere in Rossum raised €1,337 for the project ‘Het heft in eigen handen’ (Taking control) of the Soroptimists of Curaçao. The sold-out concert in Den Dolder raised more than €4,700 and the sold-out concert in Hilversum more than €5,600, both for the national Soroptimist project Syria ‘Back to School’. In Den Dolder the proceeds came, besides ticket sales, from a wine promotion, the sale of food and drinks, an extra collection and donations.
